Featured Ever see a watch chain like this?

Hi guys,
Trying to help a friend. I asked her a few more questions because she only sent pics. Unsure if it’s marked. The chain looks well constructed but the beads look out of place with the wire and lighter color. What about those hands?
Any help is very much appreciated

 

The chain part may be vintage, but the beads look like they're on tigertail or other wire with crimps. They weren't there originally. The clasped hands are a classic Victorian motif. They belong.

 

Dextrarum junctio. Joining of right hands, symbolic of trust, friendship. Also Fides, faithfulness, and omonoia, harmony concord. Ancient image.

 

With those snaky bits coiling off, it would be tempting to see the figure on the glass intaglio as Medusa, but other elements indicate the grain goddess Ceres/Demeter.

 

If it's possible to use the toggle bar in connection with some part of the fob to close the chain into a circle, I would suggest this has been lengthened by the insertion of the beads to make it into a necklace.

 

My guess too. I wish we could see the rest of the fob too.

Check all the links and Fides hands for tiny marks. They could also be on the cuffs of the Fides.
I have an Austro-Hungarian guard/watch chain that is marked on many of the links with microscopically small marks.
