Featured Evelyn Nesbit picture postcard 1902, Maven❤️

Another item from my collection that I am now able to post.
This is an original 1902 picture postcard of scandalous, and controversial model/actress Evelyn Nesbit. She gained her fame through various pictures she posed for by various artists of the era. She became more widely known in 1906 when her then husband, psychologically unstable and drug addicted millionaire Harry Kendall Thaw shot & killed prominent New York architect Stanford White in front of hundreds of witnesses at the roof top theatre of Madison Square Garden. It was dubbed by the press at the time, as the trial of the century, a notorious love triangle. I have been told that original items of Evelyn Nesbit are hard to come by, even though she was highly photographed etc.

I knew a little about Evelyn Nesbit, but I just now read about her life. What a story! Thanks for showing this amazing postcard!

 

I learned of her through the movie Ragtime . I think Elizabeth Mcgovern played her .She was lovely and apparently quite a character !
