I found this a few months ago, since I live with my dad in a mobile home taking care of him, not much room for things I like.
This one was hanging on a wall at a family estate sale, I grabbed it fast. Never seen a frame like this before, also I don't know who the artist is, any help ?

    Thank You

I certainly don't see anything remotely MCM about your piece. Looks modern.

Hi Debora, the lady said her husband got it in the 70's at a swap meet. MCM is what era ? 50's 60's ?

I'm very surprised. I have never seen anything like it from that era.

I would have thought 80's at the earliest. The "frame" looks like a section of exterior railing. Is it wood or metal?

    The frame is metal

That's what I thought. How big?

Yes, 1980s at the very earliest would be my take as well.

Is that what the painting is on or is that just a backer board?

It's what the painting is on, also the frame is wood, I thought it was metal.

Frame is wood, I just pulled of my top shelf storage area, for some reason I thought it was metal, kind of looks like though huh ?

Well, that's a surprise, but it is what it is.

I googled the Hi-Art (etc) from the back and only got results for 1 painting on a different weight of the same material (previously listed on eBay, unsigned and undated, described as "modern Abstract still life." The other results were all describing these boards being used for mounted prints and photographs. I was hoping to see if there was any kind of "history of use" that might be useful.
