However, having gone through my books on all the major makers of this type of pattern and scoured The Saleroom plus multi Google searches I’ve not found this pattern.

It is a Japan pattern from c1820 and totally had painted. The reverse is stained and has some grit. My best bet is Coalport but does anybody recognise the pattern?
    It measures 9.25” 23.5cm

    thanks

I was looking at the mark on the edge between the two blue smudges. Almost looks like the letter "M" and a few others. Could be just dirt though.

No there’s no mark unfortunately. Thanks for looking.

Well if it's any help, Coalport from back then is STARK chalky white and the footrims tend to be very angular rather than soft-cornered ...it looks a bit Derby-ish, but without having it in hand, well, you know ...

Yes it does have a bit of a Derby feel to it. I’ve got a Derby cup and saucer with a similar body.

Thanks. That’s the pattern. It looks like an R in the foot rim.

Looking back at the other listing it is marked on the foot rim as well though doesn't appear to be an R. Perhaps it's just a painter's mark.
