Embossed religious tin

Hello all,

We found this in the basement of our recently purchased home.
It is embossed metal with some sort of black coating. There are no markings on it anywhere. The original owners of the house were Italian.
Any ideas on what material it could be made of, origin or of its value?

Hello, kerianne. You say "tin" but the item looks like a large plate.

 

It’s made of metal...it seems like tin as it’s not very heavy for its size.

 

I'm getting a Mexican vibe from this. Not sure why... I'm not an expert by any means.

 

Not an expert here, either, but it looks like plated copper to me.

Perhaps wonky light/color reflections.

 

Edit:Not much usable info, but I've found these described as Persian, Turkish, "middle eastern"... Seem fairly recent. Suspect the eBay pricing is aspirational.

I don’t know anything about it, but am curious as to why, in both the OP’s plate and the one @Jivvy is showing, there is ONE woman with her hand over her mouth.......does anyone understand as to why???
