Does anyone have any idea what these marks are on the inside band? I tested with 10, 14, 18 and 20K acid and the acid held for all four so I'm thinking it is at least 20K. Also CDC5C501-E0C4-4870-B555-05A356D3AA4B_1_201_a.jpeg , would you say these are freshwater Pearls? Thank you Joolies for any info you can provide.

It's marked 21, followed by ? Does not look like the Egyptian national mark, an ibis, nor like a date letter.

    Emirati, maybe. They dive pearls.

My mother has a pearl cross pendant from Syria.
The pearls are wired into a cross shaped frame very much the way your ring is constructed. I think it is 18k.

As Bronwen said, yours says "21" in Arabic.
    As in 21k gold.
    It's beautiful!

Agree with OBB that the ring is not Egyptian. Not all Muslim countries use the Eastern Arabic system of numbers. From what I have found, the Emirates, while dealing in lots of gold, mark in a Western style.

Syria uses Eastern Arabic numbers, an oval cartouche, & an abbreviation for the town where assayed. Scroll down to last mark shown:

Not sure how to factor in the pearls, but of course there is no reason they have to have been domestically produced.

I've got some gold bought in Dubai. One piece is marked in Arabic, the rest Western. I'd say Syria is a good bet though.

I agree @Ownedbybear. Syrian seems right for the hallmarks. I need to hang out here more.

I sure wish there were better resources for researching Syrian gold jewelry. I've looked all over the internet. The only thing I can find is the resource that @Bronwen linked.
I have 4 rings and a pair of earrings from Syria.
They came from Syria in the early 70s, but I don't know where they were purchased. If only I could understand the marks.
