    Hello

When I hit the thrift stores I make a pass through the jewelry as I’ve occasionally picked some nice art deco pieces.

It’s not art deco but vintage, but for .50 cents and some sterling silver heft to itI couldn’t pass it by.

Does anyone speak like an Egyptian ?

I looked at some online information but my brain was spinning by the 3rd site.

Seriously I’d love to know what the symbols translate to, I understand they are usually a person’s name or phrase.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

That's nephratite. I found similar one on etsy. Will send link in a min. But I don't know what it says.

I don't think it "says" anything. The 2 profiles do look like Nefertiti (not sure how it's spelled, but that's how it usually sounds to me) and one of the pharoahs - Tut or a Ramses? The things below the heads don't look like anything I've ever seen in hieroglyphs.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Not sure it helps any, but it seems to me I saw the same or similar in one of the Museum Stores (Metropolitan MoA??) or one on History, quite a while ago though....

During the 70s King Tut and all things Egyptian were very much trendy.I think this is from that era.

A pretty souvenir from Egypt, and very popular every time there is a revival in interest in ancient Egyptian culture. There are probably Egyptian silver marks somewhere. If not, it is a copy made anywhere.
They always have a row of hieroglyphs or symbols that look good but don't say anything, along with a popular historical figure, usually Nefertiti or Tut.

I've one of these in gold which does actually have my name on it. I agree that this isn't any kind of meaning.

    Hello
Thank you all for your feedback.
It does have hallmarks, you can see one of them faintly on the left of the first image and possibly a smaller mark below that. Unfortunately I can't bring them up under magnification but expect they are the silver hallmarks.
As long the symbols are not representative of something bad or the clue to a lost treasure I can live with the not knowing what they represent.
I'm trying to decide now whether to polish it now.

According to the one link, the top pic is just the name Nefratite spelled out in Bantu.
