I picked this up.thaught it was elegant

Looking it it up there seem to be alot similar showing up as Edwardian plant stands and some listed as Victorian plant stands.

Can anyone tell me how can you tell the difference?

Mine measures 32 inches in height by 12 inches in diameter

    Thank you JPEG_20240124_171948_resize_31.jpg JPEG_20240124_172116_resize_39.jpg JPEG_20240124_172230_resize_32.jpg JPEG_20240124_172142_resize_71.jpg JPEG_20240124_172208_resize_50.jpg JPEG_20240124_181946_resize_65.jpg

A Victorian stand would, generally, be more ornate. However, both terms really relate to time frames. Victorian era is 1837–1901. Edwardian is 1901-1910. I suppose this stand could have been produced in either time frame, or neither.

Can you tell what kind of screws (if they are screws) are in the recessed holes?

Really doesn't look like mahogany. Maybe birch with a stain. Could be European in origin. If so, beech rather than birch.

Trying to compare online and most of the examples are described as mahogany.i wonder would birch or beech have been used much to make these plant stands
