Featured Edward Basker Landscape Watercolor South Bend Indiana Artist

I am really excited about this find. I have wanted a painting by this artist for about 20 years. Every time I went down to South Bend to go antiquing I would always see his paintings in the shops. They were usually $300-$400 or more and I couldn't justify paying that much. I was out today going to my usual thrift shops and there it was for $12.99, an Edward Basker watercolor. When I took it up to the counter the check out guy said, "Wow, that's really nice", I agreed. Just thought I would share my good fortune and see if anyone else knew about this artist.

Awesome.

Definitely has a "California Style" vibe to it to me. A small art movement that began in the early 20th century. I really love some of the works done in this style. You can check some paintings out here:

Thanks, I have spent some time on that website. Those paintings are so nice. Hopefully one will have made its way to Michigan and one of my favorite shops.
