Eastlake?

  1. Looking for confirmation that this is possibly Eastlake. Also, can anyone hint to me what it might be worth?

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

I don't know the style....and sad to say I'm put off by what looks like a woman's face at the top of the side boards...
but...even though it's used brown furniture.... it's thin and infinitely useable...
I'd expect $ 75 to 125 depending on the market place.

Certainly Eastlake influence. Agree with others about the value. Maybe a tad higher in some markets big city markets.

I'd think the figure was meant to be Zephyrus.

Or... The internet says Eastlake furniture is more associated with the North Wind.

Yes, Eastlake...walnut...ca. 1890-1900. I'd rate it a bit higher in my part of the U.S., say $200-$300 to be optimistic.

Better than anything you could buy new.

It’s similar in design to an armchair I have, that an antique dealer called Aesthetic Movement, similar to Eastlake. I got the feeling that’s a catch-all style, as the Victorians were making all sorts of furniture styles, new and revival. It’s still around the same time period.

The experts can weigh in…is walnut more typically used in Eastlake?

    Very lovely piece!
