Lack of luck for my Rocinante drawing,I bought instead very cheap this small Faience Square Box that I found attractive for 12 euros.
Maybe a jewelry box..??? It does look very strange by the floral decoration.
Dims are 16X13X6.5 CM The top is unfortunately broken..But repearable...Just curious to find out how the broken bird head should lokes alike..???
It is signed under with an S letter..?? Does look old..Maybe 18 something 1900...???
So...Could you help me finding out from where and when this original small faience box comes from..??? Arabic..Asian..Maybe spanish or italian...??? That are the questions....??
    Hopefully you will as usual find the key...Thanking you in advance...!!!!!jb BTF1.jpg BTF2.jpg BTF4.jpg BTF5.jpg BTF6.jpg

I hope the Netherlands is exotic enough for you?:nailbiting:
It looks like a Delfts butter dish to me, but I could be wrong. I have seen them with this shape, but not with the same style decoration.

I don't recognize the marks, but maybe @say_it_slowly does. They are definitely European, and probably Dutch.

As far as I know, Gaudy Welsh is less refined. This one has more flourishes and curling tendrils.
Which several other countries also used, including the Netherlands.
I am not saying it is definitely Dutch, but I doubt it is Gaudy Welsh.

It’s too fluffy furbelowed to be gaudy Welsh. I do agree it’s European.

all of these are based on Imari styles.
