    Hi.
This summer holiday I bought a little wooden donkey from an antique shop in Wadebridge, Cornwall. It was only £3 and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it (how old it might be, what kind of wood is it made of, where did it come from???).
    It's about 11cm (4inches) tall and 12cm (4.3inches) long.
    Thanks,
    Rue

You have bought someone's fairly recent Spanish holiday souvenir. If you like it, that was about the right price.

I thought it could have been Spanish. Do you have any idea what wood it is? I know that pictures are a bit crap, so it's probably next to impossible to tell..

Even with close ups the wood may still remain unknown....

My guess is any of the various Spanish or North African fruit woods.

Spanish ones are normally olive wood, so Croatia makes sense. I've seen similar ones there.
