Got this at thrift store and not sure what this is. At first I thougjt it was an elk or something like it and close up it looks like the face/beak if a duck. Its a pretty solid glass piece that is about 8 inches high and weighs almost 2 lbs. any help with what it is and maker would be appreciated and also if vintage (approx decade).

    Thanks :shame: 491AC458-E61F-47C2-AE4F-7C7FEB26641D.jpeg

How bizarre! Do the front feet look like there are toes?

The legs are like folded underneath. So I don't see toes. It is strange. The tail is almost like a fan not like the tail of a deer or buck.

No feet in the lower left of the picture from the side?

Yes but no toes. Its like legs of an animal folded underneath like sitting on them. This has me stumped. So weird.

I took a closer look. It has horns shaped like that of a ram and the face shaped like a duck. Perhaps it was made by amatuer glass blower

Maybe from Texas. They do a lot of 'take offs' such as their jackalopes. You can google them.

Really neat piece! There were some fantasy glass animals created. I went through my glass animal book but I didn't find this particular critter Stylistically it reminds me of Fostoria's deer figurine for their float bowl. The book shows a dragon swan (maker unknown but thought to be Swedish). It doesn't resemble your animal but shows there were some fantasy figurines created by somebody.

They're all colorful, but the results of a search for 'murano glass figurine gazelle' include some that have the same unrealistic face.

I think it's supposed to be a stylized Art Deco gazelle. Hand-tooling hot glass isn't always successful. :bored: art deco gazelle.jpg

Was looking through crystal animals, trying to find something that seemed the same style & came across this in a list of ones to be auctioned:
