So I found this on a shelf in a thrift store for 250 dollars. Wondering if it's worth picking up. Is someone going to actually buy the thing or am I gonna be stuck with it forever? I don't see any recent sales for that particular one, the rarest and most expensive.

As you can see, I'm torn on what to do. It's minty, appears to have all the proper markings.

Welcome, CeramicC! Are you having trouble posting pictures of the item you are asking about?

Looks like you need to know the back stamp to determine if it really is the rarest.

Here's a bit of help, in case you need it:

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

    If on an iPhone:

And if on an Android phone:

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!" BTW, and WELCOME!!:)

    Beatrix, not Beatrice. :)

Would definitely need to see the backstamp and the item itself. Many of the figurines were released several times, you'd need to know which version that one is. Though I have a few of the figurines, I'm definitely no expert and don't know anything about your particular piece but there are collector's websites out there.

EDIT: Does it have the backstamp BP-1a or BP-2? Apparently, the Duchess with Flowers 1a is rarest.

Went unsold but you will likely make your money back & then some.

They made two models of Duchess. One with the flowers & the other with a pie. Obviously, the one with the flowers is more desirable.

I have a friend who has every piece in this line except this one but she would have never paid what they were asking in that listing. She would have broken her neck diving on it for $250.00 though. :hilarious::hilarious:
