Can anyone please tell me when this type of furniture was made and also what wood it is, it's very dark.
    Thank you :) IMG_2319.JPG IMG_2319.JPG

I'll leave it to the furniture experts to describe when and what type of wood, but I would suggest this is a dresser rather than a dressing table. It seems to me that a dressing table would have a knee hole space, similar to a desk, so that a chair or bench could be drawn up.

Its a dresser c 1920, it looks like mixed woods and possibly some previous staining.
Its had some replacement / repair around the mirror.
Not really very popular at the moment although before getting rid I would retrieve the barley twist arms and bevelled mirror.

    Hi,
I would quickly stop at a marble/granite place and pick up a new top. That is if you did not want to refinish the the top.

Think Davey is spot-on with this. Likely English. Rather than mixed woods, wonder if it has been selectively stripped/refinished.

My English oak dresser has almost identical mirror and arms......the rest here looks like a later copy...in a more simple style..
