Featured Doll, Kewpie?

I bought her for less than a dollar equivalent at the rummage mainly because she appeared to have glass eyes. I don’t know much about dolls and I don’t know if she is a Kewpie that someone attempted to turn into Brian May/Cher with a wig or if she shouldn’t have a wig at all. She’s got no wings or labels or marks other than the symbol on the back of her head, she has the Kewpie star hands, made out of some sort of composite, moveable head, arms and legs and is approx 7 and a half inches tall. Any info appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I like her best as a kewpie doll, not as a wigged "I can't make change for a $50 bill" doll.

True Kewpies must have those little blue wings.

And, numerous companies tried to Kopy Kewpie but Kouldn't. Check the ones on eBay. Lots of Knopies.

 

This is a repro of an antique Googly Eyes,not a Kewpie. Some were made by Kestner but other companies made them too xxx

Some of these googlys are quite scary, I’ve seen enough of them for today. Thanks everyone, think mine is some sort of knock off with elements from different known dolls.

It's not a new repro, it has age but it's a repro for sure. These are charming in the flesh, doesn't translate in pics very well...this one is painted badly so that doesn't help either xx

Probably......Rose O'Neill's Kewpie was used by many manufactures......Jello being one of them.

 

Those rosy cheeks! Looks sort of like the Campbell's Soup kids too!
