    Hi All,

I've purchased this doll from a dealer. She's a redhair, 14" and unmarked. Not in the best condition, but not the worst. Does anyone know who she is/the maker?

She's a Madame Alexander Little Women doll from the 1940s.

MA like many other companies used the same face for many different dolls.

As suggested, if you haven't already looked at the back of the neck, do so. Especially up near the hair line.

Awww....looks to be one of my favorite Madame Alexander face molds. There were a couple of knock-offs that looked very similar though. If she is MA, it's the Maggie face mold which was used on many of the dolls from 1948-1954 (although not all are marked). The hairstyle and clothing will determine which one she is. Does she have a smell? A lot of the hard plastic dolls get "funky".

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The blemishes on the face make me think she is probably made of composition.

Very well could be, Fig. That scratch on her cheek does look like compo underneath, but the thin eye cutouts, and rubbing at the neck look more HP. @Brenda M we would love more pics, so we can help you!
