does anyone know what this is use for ? Look like decorative wine bottle base

not sure what this is but it's sterling and look to be something of the orient or hindu maybe but not sure it's purpose. Seems to be decorative in nature something fits at the base of a wine bottle. Sterling Silver solid

 

I can be of no help but showing the marks along with the measurements might help others. How big is the inner diameter of the opening? What is the measurement from tip to tip across? Is it heavy or lightweight? Can you give us a weight? Also, what does the back of the piece look like?

It looks to be some type of lightbox for photography this thing is sitting in & if it is as large as the one I have this thing is huge.

 

My guess is this is Native American, perhaps something worn? I'm guessing the center of each leaf is depicting pottery, and the outside pattern (assuming it's Native) is a 'Whirling Log' and existed well before that other not so great group in Germany...

 

Would think from India or thereabouts, the swastika still in use - looks vaguely familiar, but more information, as already requested, would be helpful...

the same leaves coming out of the vessel are shown, as the ones stamped with the swastikas .....I/m thinking it's a ceremonial crown placed on whatever plant that is..
