I know Buchan Portobello is in Scotland, I think Edinburgh area.

    The size is L 30cm and W 15cm.

The only markings it has are the two in the photos but nothing on the base. I think the markings on the top say:
    Andrew Smith Lerwick
    Buchan ..averley Potteries Portobello.

Does anyone know anything about it, how old it is roughly etc. Thank you

It could be a Whisky jar, made for a pub in Lerwick, Orkney (Scotland).
Probably Waverley, which is also a part of Edinburgh. Portobello is a suburb of Edinburgh on the coast of the Firth of Forth.
Waverley is also the name of a novel by Sir Walter Scott.

I’ve found out Lerwick is the village Andrew Smith lived in and his family had a few different businesses including spirits. Andrew died in 1917 so I guess it was definitely made early 1900’s or could I be wrong?

I did find an Andrew Smith with several businesses in Lerwick, but none of them seemed to be a pub or hotel. I'm sure it is a common name.

Lerwick is a town, btw. It even has a cathedral.:)
