    Hi guys,

This kinda looks like the guy from the shaky, shaky mayhem commercial signed it. Lol. The thing on the right looks like a Roman numeral?? XV Possibly. The left looks like a K but not sure if the thing before it is another letter or??
Hoping someone here knows or can help point me in the right direction

    Thank you so much!

The mark on the left, if turned to the left, looks like a Kanji caracter.

A very pretty bangle, but do those marks have anything to do with the manufacturer? Do they have any bearing on the value?
    Yes, it is.

Hi kyra, how is Ciarán where you are?
I tied a rope through the terrace furniture, not that it helped.:hilarious:
    Stay inside and stay safe.

I thought they might be the signature of the maker

I am very far from an expert, but I have had quite a few Bakelite pieces of jewelry over the last 20 years. I have never seen one with a maker's mark, but like I said, I am no expert!

Was just thinking it might be the signature of the person who made it? I’m new to the bake scene. Can ya tell? Lol. I did see a guy or gal named Schultz marked a lot of their pieces by hand.

    Nice bangle!
I have never seen any old bakelite that was signed by the maker.
Schultz make very nice new jewelry pieces with old bakelite, as far as I know.
Maybe it was one of its owners, who decided to carve that sign?
Doesn't look very well done to me, as opposed to the quality and workmanship that was needed to make this bangle in the first place.

Old pieces aren't marked if they're solid bakelite. Once in a while something that's partly metal has markings on it, but those are usually 50s pieces using up old stock. Some recent recarvers sign their work, which may be what this is. Maybe someone added the yellow dots to a plain bangle about 20 years ago.

Oddly the only thing I"ve heard of Ciaran was what I've read here and then went to Google News. Looks like a fun time was had by nobody except weather reporters.

This may seem like a stupid question but have you checked it to make sure it is Bakelite? I am far from being an expert on Bakelite jewelry but something just doesn't look right to me.

The bangle itself looks right. If as I suspect, someone polished this and cut in those circles, it looks like bakelite with the patina removed. It looks more like what bakelite did originally.

Bakelite has never been a crafters or home made item. It most likely was marked by someone who owned it.

I still would not sell it as Bakelite until I had tested it myself but that's just me.

I would too, especially because there's no patina.

It has been called a 'bomb cyclone'.
Now there are two fatalities in Dessert's home town. One of them a child, playing outside. Who lets their children play outside after a storm warning?!
Two people died here in the Netherlands, but also deaths in Italy, Spain and France.
