I hope some experts here can help with an ID on the maker of this heavily decorated glass vase. It looks similar to Harrach's Moroccan style pieces, but I haven't been able to find this mark for Harrach (or anyone else).

    Thanks so much!

Without the mark I'd have said Harrach, have had a fair number of pieces with that decoration. Dunno the mark, perhaps a wholesaler/distributor?

Thank you, Cherryhill. My first thought was Harrach but the mark threw me. A wholesaler or distributer mark sounds plausible.

I'll try and find my Hajdamach tome. He's the guru on Webb.

That would be great - thank you!

I just paged through about 200 pages of the middle of Hajdamach, British Glass, saw no glass of the form or decoration of the above. Inconclusive, I know.

Hm. There's a fair few similar style show up as supposedly Webb Persian, but who knows.

Looking at this again, I don't think it has Webb quality or Harrach. Which isn't to diss it, it's a pretty thing.

Thanks so much. I've looked at every Webb Persian or Moroccan vase I could find online. Mine has the identical decoration, so at least it's a Webb wannabe if not the real thing. I'm still unsuccessfully looking for the mark on the bottom.

I saw that one, I wonder where they got the attribution from.

Could it be a decorator's mark? Those are usually free-hand initials, but just a thought....

I don't think any factory would have bothered making a transfer for a decorator's mark. Those were basically used for payment.

tho' the use of an artist palette with initials might be seen as indicative of a decorator/artist mark...
