What date would you put on the dividers? Text stamped on it is P.A. Schwab. Is that a known maker or was this shop-made? I've been using it to lay out machining jobs because it is the best set of dividers I have, the "fine" adjustment, the larger knob, lets me move one leg close to a thousandth of an inch if I need to.

Virtually any time in the 19th C. The way the brass and steel are blended in shape is pretty typical. I have had other drawing sets where some pices have been datable that had similar designs for the instruments. 18th C exampllles tended to have a little moredecoration on the steelwork.
