Diver found spoon, can anyone shed any light on the hallmark?

I have no idea what the hallmarks mean and can't find anything similar on the internet, if anyone could shed any information that would be amazing.

    British electroplate. May be Elkington. I will double check.

    Hi Mark, and WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!!! VERY cool spoon!! @Bakersgma is one of the best to get to the "bottom" of it!!!:happy::happy::hilarious: Does it clean up at all?

    It will clean up, so far I've just used a bit of fairy liquid and a sponge to get the hallmark exposed. again, any info appreciated.

    The marks are not real hallmarks; they have no particular meaning. Early silverplate was sometimes marked in this fashion to make it look like more than it was.

    Thanks for the info chaps, I will polish it up and add it to the rest of my underwater finds.
