Dish Information Pls

Starting to learn about my grandparent's collection and get a feel of how best to get information on items. I have several pictures of each item.

Soup tureen and tray?

 

Not sure these two go together. Different border design, different shade of blue, and the tray is too big for the dish/tureen.

Or a serving platter and a dish that never meant to have a tray.

 

Agree - 2 different patterns. The "tureen" is in the Willow pattern, sometimes called Blue Willow for obvious reasons. Is the mark on both pieces or only on the platter? We need to see the design on the center of the platter.

 

I guess that I didn't get a shot of the bottom of the platter, I'm going to assume it didn't have a marking

My pleasure. From what I can gather it could be a rare piece although that doesn't always translate to big $$$.

Blue Willow can still bring high prices for unusual items. I got $90 for just the dome to a cake plate.

Appears the tray is only 4 inches. You don't give size, but it may be a covered gravy rather than a tureen.
Has the knob been repaired? If so, that will diminish the value.

 

I'm uncertain, a lot of this is just a grab for information. I will probably have to look at it later on to confirm. I can also get exact sizes and better pictures of anything in question.
