Featured Dimensional reverse painting on glass Alfred Hilpert Bavaria

I was browsing some local thrifts that were open today. One of my favorite ones was having a 20% off store wide. This was $5.99 - 20%
The frame measures 11" diameter.
Tghis is actually made on three pieces of glass. The scene outside the window is the back one. Then the room is painted on the middle one. Finally, the man is on the first layer.
They are all separated by thin pieces of cardboard to keep them from touching and give the dimensional effect. This couldn't be an original piece? he died in the late 1930's The back looks to have been off a few times with the array of different screws and nails. Once by me lol.
Any and all thoughts welcome.

Given the 3 pieces, why not original? I'd like to see it firsthand. Very clever, but the photo compresses it into a single plane.

 

It could be, just looks newer than 1930s
If you saw it firsthand you would see the layers
