Hello, from what I have been able to find out this elephant is an example of Indian Dhokra art but as with most things I research there is a lot of conflicting information. I have no idea if this one is recent or old, though it does look like it has been around awhile. Most I find are much smaller but even that is hard to judge as many people neglect to give measurements. This one is around 5.75" tall and around 6.5" long and weighs around 4.25 pounds, so it is quite solid. There are some spots with a dark hard clay like substance showing. There are also several spots that look like maybe a grinder was used to perhaps remove casting remnants. Any help or ideas will be very appreciated.
