Delicate Blown Glass Candle Holder? JUNK???

I think this is a candleholder, too weird for a bud vase? No markings anywhere,very delicate,thin glass. Can anyone tell me its purpose,maker,age,etc.? Thank you I stuck a long tweezer in the holes to try and show the depth. Measures 7 1/2" tall X 3 3/4" wide at the base.

 

I think it is a candle holder. It reminds me of those egyptian perfume bottles that have been so popular lately ( I can't stand them. ) But the shape and design of the glass look similar. May be an egyptian piece.

Appears to be better quality than the Egyptian stuff - looks more like Murano/Venetian soffiati glass...

These were sold as sets of three different in some upscale catalog. They sell fairly well sporadically on ebay. I had one that I listed a couple times with no takers at $24.99 w/ free shipping. I broke it before I could re-list and get it sold.
