Dayak Hampatong or African Figure Carving?

    Hi all,

    Would love you're help ID'ing this figure carving if you don't mind.

    The piece on the head and slenderness of it make me think Dayak, also the shape of the face but the legs and zig-zag pattern seems more African to me..

    What do you think?

    With that long body and the zig-zags I don't see a Hampatong, although I can see why you thought it might be. I am no Dayak expert though.

    I think this one is derived from Dogon (Mali) and Senufo (Ivory Coast) styles, and probably a pastiche made for sale.
