    good day to you all,

I have inherited a selection of crystal decanters. They are all 80+ years old. I know this as I have been shown a photograph from 1935, where they are visible.

Is there a way of establishing roughly when they were made? None have any makers Mark on them, but each weigh a lot.

any suggestions will be gratefully received.

The design often gives a good basis within a time frame. You can often get reasonably close with pictures. The trickier ones are the Georgian designs which were remade during the late 19th and Edwardian period, these often need handling to differentiate them. Someone familiar with 18th and 19th C glass will quite easily be able to tell the difference when handling for the majority. There are always tricky outliers of course.
