Pick up this a while back and am trying to date it. It's covered in what
I think is a silver plate metal framework as there are no hallmarks to indicate
solid silver. Found a few googling but none that matched this pattern or
had this cork stopper arrangement. It has the name “John Haig” embellished
in the metalwork and as far as I can tell he appeared sometime around the
1920s. Sadly it is missing a small strip of metalwork along the bottom. Please
excuse the photos as there is a black reflection. The bottle is 22cm high. I'm
hoping someone can date it using the marks on the bottom. They are
    “HAIG” ,“A666”, “6” and “UGB”.

    Cheers

    Stephen

I wasn't sure if he was saying that if the word "pinch" is molded on the bottom or if the pinch glass has a molded bottom then it is before 1954.

The silver "frame" is not likely to be plated - it's "silver deposit" which is done with sterling. Often unmarked, although sometimes you do see a very tiny "sterling" on it somewhere - at least in the US.

I've yet to see a Pinch bottle with a stopper that has a ring on it, and sugest it may not be original to the bottle.
You should show this to the company & see if they can shed light on your find.

Now that is interesting. That cheeky Wang Hing putting silver over the Haig bottles and selling them to the high and mighty! Don't think mine is one of them as the pattern seems to be too crude and lacks fine details. I suspect this might be an early western attempt at depositing silver but don't know who by. Have sent an email to Haig but haven't got a response yet so still looking.
    Thanks for the help everyone.
    Cheers

You're right. And Wang Hing silver is marked, like this Wang Hing belt buckle:

The front, the green colour is a reflection of my shirt.

It doesn't so much look like the Chinese bottles to me but the fact that they were re-purposing bottles. There seem to be Haig bottles for sale with silver marked from Mexico and other countries as well.
