I found this ring in my bag of assorted rings. There are no markings anywhere. I have no idea what type of metal it is made from & it is not attracted to a magnet. It weighs 0.5 oz. or 14 grams & is a size 10 1/4. I tried doing a Google image search and came up with nothing similar. Googling "DATAS II U" also got me nowhere. So any ideas??? Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!!
I was thinking along those lines - possibly something to do with Star Trek/Star Wars/Marvel Comics etc.
It definitely isn’t Trek and I don’t recognise it as any of the other SF universes I’m familiar with.
There’s a date, 1989 and corporals stripes. The U might be a university perhaps. Some kind of cadet corps?
This? https://www.deseret.com/1988/4/6/18762717/delta-training-agents-in-use-of-datas-ii/ Started in 1988. Training of 1 year perhaps, with the ring as a graduation present?
I'd say that solves it. It also explains why it rang bells in my head, too, I did some work back then on systems related to airline bookings! Doubt it took a year to train agents, mostly it was a couple of weeks for similar systems. So it might have been for developers or something. Or the tutors perhaps.
Well, well - someone seems to be on the ball the last couple of days!! I will see if I can find anything further with this information. Thanks you once again @Marote!!
