Featured Dante? Monterey art plaster scuplture

I've had this for years and just recently saw my old post on the old ebay boards. i had thought I posted it here but couldn't find an old thread so thought i would post it. I have never been able to identify the artist or the company. it does read 1978 so unless it is anything other than a date it's not very old. I bought him at a yard sale about 6 years ago for I think 20.00. He is 12" tall and solid plaster very heavy. over 9 lbs. He has been outside for five years and starting to weather so before he got too bad I thought I would see if I could find out more about who made him.

Here is what he looked like when i got him.

 

Did you ever see him looking bluish or teal in your searches? That seems to be what's under the top coat, correct?

I cannot find ANYTHING

 

That I think is reflection. I never saw any like this. A couple bookends is all.

Only if the Native American boy migrated to China and became a Chinese Immortal. I am sure stranger things have happened.

 

Might be a copyright stamp on the left side of "1978".

 

You think he is NA? @Any Jewelry ?

 

The subject, yes, but not NA made.

 

Yeah, he has a necklace of some sort and probably a turquoise ring.
Aside from any jewelry he has the moccasins, the leather stitched pants and the bandana. I think that is a good guess.
