Ok I m hoping to get some insight on this painting i found thrifting today. I had my eye on it for a few days and finally decided to take it home. But its signed Danford which from what my research identifies as Roy Danford Parker born 1882 who painted oil based landscapes.

So my query based on that information is if this is an original R. DANFORD painting, is it more valuable because its signed different with just the last name when all others show R.Danford on the internet? And is the subject of painting which is different than all the others sold online, outdoor landscapes vs this indoor flower vase, make it more rare and special? I would love some feed back. Understand that i am not experienced or educated in artistic painting so my knowledge is based upon internet searching. Thank you and God Bless.

Norm, would you please go back and repost your photographs as Full Image? That will make them easier to see. And could/would you post a close-up photograph of the round sticker on the canvas' back? (If indeed that's what it is?)

The painting you have posted would be considered a still life.

I don't think it possible to assign your work signed "Danford" to "Roy Danford Parker." In fact, your painting appears to my eye to be a commercially- produced work created for decorative, not artistic, purposes. That would impact the value significantly.

    Let's see what others think.

    I agree with @komokwa, it's very new.
The back of your artwork doesnt look old enough.
The staples on the back of the canvas are all wrong. There should be nails attaching the canvas.

Ah, I now see that the frame is stamped "Made in Mexico." Norm, that's almost always a way to identify what's called a "factory painting." Yours is bright and decorative in an eye-catching frame. But its value is as an item of decor, not a work of art.
