    Hi folks

This is something that's coming up at a local Auction house.

Being sold as Victorian bread platter

I think it looks quite fine/nice, and can't seem to find another one like it online

    Only 1 picture

Looking closely at the picture there a signature that reads j. Austin(right middle edge)

And something else written at the bottom edge

Anyone have an idea on the possible maker ?

    Any thoughts appreciated

Looks majolica. Bottom says Give Us This Day, which is typical.

The decoration reminds me of Doulton series wares.

So the plate would be very early Victorian if roughly contemporary with image.

From the internet: "The abbreviation SC. is used alongside the name of the engraver of an artwork that was originally created by another artist."

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The main character looks either like a salesman or School master at his desk...the majority of characters seem to be holding books......Debora's image is clearer.....NICE FIND, Charlie!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

no makers marks or anything, but fine condition, chipless

but thats the way it goes, if it had a mark, probably would have sold for alot more
