Someone suggested maybe a commission for a perfume company. Does anyone recognise the bottle shape, any other clues? It’s 16.5cm high, 7cm wide and 2.5cm deep. Many thanks

It strikes me as a commercial bottle also although I would have expected to see some type of mark as to where the bottle was made on the bottom.

I'll look through a book or two & see if I can spot anything.

Just curious, what other forum did you consult?

Thanks @bercrystal it was the Facebook Czech Bohemian glass group. I was given this great resource link https://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Hoff...d_EGOGMxN1Ou_5OIsaYGxFN8bZQScMVhJZ1RGhHgpVxFE
You can see similar clear glass bottles just different shapes although the structure of opening and base the same.
The stopper is used on this first more ornate bottle and I’ve found others online. The following image is clear glass bottles but different shapes and stoppers - see opening is same. 7B2F6716-9333-4216-9487-61AD634176AB.jpeg

I was able to find a different bottle with this stopper in one of my books. The bottle & stopper is shown in yellow. The book is Perfume Bottles for Desser and Purse from Czechoslovakia 1920s - 1930s by Verna Kocken.

The author has this as a description of the bottle -"bottles in this style were used commercially by Max Factor".

So while I believe this bottle was made in Czechoslovakia I have my doubts regarding the Hoffman connection. The main reason is that I knew the author of this book & if this bottle was made by Hoffman I feel she would have made mention of this fact. However, I do not purport to be an expert regarding his bottles. So I have emailed someone I know who really knows Czech bottles. Hopefully, she'll answer my questions in the email I sent to her.

I will let you know if she replies to me.

    Many thanks again @bercrystal
Would be interested to see a pic of the yellow one you found.

I understand some of the Czech perfume bottles were reproduced later (Desna etc) but I’ve not seen this one as a copy either. I’m told the design on the stopper is a Hoffmann motif so whether another maker copied it at the same time I obviously don’t know.
I look forward to any feedback your friend is able to give, thanks for doing that.
