First day without kids in tow so I skipped into town to check out the wonders of the charity shops and found NOTHING! :shifty:
That was until the very last shop when I saw this jar on the shelf. I so nearly put it back but opened up the lid and saw this beauty smiling up at me so I shelled out my £5 and the coffee jar of dodgy jewellery was mine!
So, any ideas of the age please?
    Czech?
I’m seeing these beads described as ‘End of Day Spatter Glass’ but the cabochon looks slightly better organised than that. It’s been mended and put together incorrectly as it should have the necklace on the two closer together rings and a dangle on the third. I’ll try to find something complimentary to go on there and some old brass rings instead of the new shiny one.
    Thanks for looking!

And I was rewarded for my leap of faith with some labradorite beads, a thin sterling ring, a cute Avon bunny necklace,

4 gold chains, two definitely 9k and two at possibly 18k but I’m not so convinced about those two.

End of day is a load of old cobblers. ;) I'd think Czech, they need vinegar.

Gold? Blimey. They don't check, do they.

I think so too. This is far too pretty to be leftovers!
    Any idea of age?
None of the chains have clasps so no hallmarks and just got chucked in the jar. The two 9K ones really look quality and strongly test 9K. The other two hold strong until 22k but I’m not convinced they aren’t some sort of alloy although the stripe on the stone doesn’t look like the aluminium ones that ignore acid completely so I have no idea.

i love the labradorite beads. My family has a thing for labradorite. My Dad had his tombstone made out of Labradorite.

How long is it? Might be 30s, could be 50s. Very pretty glass.

I've seen beads with spatter like that also called confetti glass. Though usually it's spatter across the entire bead, not just a portion, so I don't know if the term would still apply.

Confetti is an entirely reasonable term.

End of day is an urban myth. ;)
