Currier and Ives

This Currier and Ives print came from my grandparents house. After the research I've done, I'm not holding my breath it is an original, but if anyone on here knows much about their prints and reproductions, I'd love to try to know more.
Here are a few details- the paper size is 12" by 16". The print size is 9.5" by 13.5". Upon removing it from the frame, the paper seems to be stuck to the cardboard backing. The lower left corner was not secured, so I wonder if that is just something that happened because of age. The paper has quite a bit of texture, but doesn't seem to be very thick, from what I can tell.
It appears hand colored, and when I hold it at an angle to the light, the colored parts look to have a different texture than the other parts.
I have read about later reproductions having "dots" in the printing. I am not positive exactly what the dots would look like, but under magnifying glass, I see texture , but not necessarily dots. I definitely don't see dots in the title.
It could be a dead giveaway, but there is no address under the picture, which I see in other of the original prints online.
Attached are various pictures, some close-up to try to show detail.
    I look forward to any info available. 20240717_152024.jpg 20240717_152205.jpg 20240717_152037.jpg 20240717_152046.jpg 20240717_152024.jpg 20240717_152205.jpg 20240717_152037.jpg 20240717_152046.jpg 20240717_152149.jpg 20240717_152024.jpg 20240717_152205.jpg 20240717_152037.jpg 20240717_152046.jpg 20240717_152149.jpg 20240717_152046.jpg

I'm sorry the pictures duplicated so much. I don't know why it did that...

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

:happy::):)....I'm just wondering how you were able to post 15 images in one Thread!!!!!! Normally, unless the mods have changed it, it's usually just
8 images to one thread!!!!!!!! I blew it up quite a bit and saw no 'pixelating', but I'm also not a 'print expert either!!!! Nice picture though!

    Ah, again, sorry about that...
My dad just let me know that picture was in his grandparents house as long as he can remember, and he's 70. So it's definitely not a modern reproduction.

Thank you for that, Debora. The thing that bothers me is that the address and stuff is printed below the picture... mine doesn't have that. So, probably a reproduction. Maybe.

A reproduction. Currier and Ives' work was very popular and has always been widely reproduced.

No noticeable watermarks, but again, the paper is stuck to the cardboard backing, so I can't hold it up to the light...

Sorry I missed that! So many of these were reproduced. I had a client who purchased a print that someone hand embellished. It was very disappointing when I had to tell her it wasn't an 'original'.
