That cord looks exactly like I can go to my lamp shop today and buy it? Too clear to be old.

Curious doesn't begin to describe it!

Never seen remotely similar. I would have to also guess someone combined pieces, agree that at a minimum, the prisms part seems to be from a different lamp. Cord could be a new replacement, possibly. What an unusual piece. Can see why you asked about it!

It's form, as it stands, looks out of sorts. I think it need to be straightened, so the the socket falls in the center of base. One spiral has been undone and makes me think that glass does not belong. The pendents may belong, but I find them distracting. Also, the wiring is uninspired. Stripping all of those elements off would help. Maybe it did not start off as an electric lamp?

Other than that, I love it.
    Dragons are cool!

The brass base with the dragon and the glass dish look like the belong together. The other parts look like they have been added later.
Maybe the glass dish is for calling cards?

Love the dragon.:) But he doesn't need to date anyone, he is already very attached to the base. I hear wedding bells.:joyful:

I think a marriage of parts. Probably originally a vapor lamp. This is the famous Vapo-Cresolene lamp that would be similar.

Thanks, the spiral isn't undone though, it is different from the coils that hold the dish in place... more of an accent. cord def is a re-wire
