    Hi everyone!

Could someone help me identify this lamp? I can't figure out how old it could be...
The gold wire is my rewiring work :)

Looks like a nice solid brass piano lamp, classical design, 1920's.

Nice pictures. Could we see one of the front?
Is there a tubular bulb in it, or does it take a regular bulb?
    Measurements?

Tubular bulb - my guess 1950s - 60s piano lamp

Very nice piano/desk lamp. Is it brass or gilt bronze? No marks? Agree with the circa 1920s date. Could even be a bit earlier. Recently sold a tubular bulb bronze piano lamp with a patent date of 1915.

That’s really a beautiful item, the base especially reminds me of Tiffany bronze items. Keep researching it, look closely for any marks.

Pic of the socket looks European in origin. Surprised that the way it is mounted puts the bulb off-center. Can't tell how it is mounted in there. Any evidence that this was once mounted further over on the end?

    Hi Brad,
I had one that was mounted in the middle with two long bulbs, since my aquarium light has two long bulbs I did not think anything with it.

Would agree if it was two bulbs in opposite direction but this appears to be for a single bulb.

Just realized that this pic expands quite a bit. Was able to enhance and see what I believe to be a break in the mount. Note the two places I circled. Seems they were once joined on the left to me. (Note also that this pic will expand if clicked on.)

    Hi Brad,
I see what you mean, when I looked I "thought" I saw two bulbs. Old age is quickly making me look like an idiot:eek::eek::eek:

wow thats very well observed i will look more closely for inspection! You can tell the socket was replaced recently so it is quite certain that it was initially in the far left :)
