Curious about this painting

I have a painting done by my great great aunt. I was just browsing Craigslist and saw a post about a painting that is almost exactly the same. The only thing research came up with is the original could have been painted by an A.S. Stewart…my question is could these paintings have been done in a class of some sort? Further research found another set of these paintings at auction. Does anyone know anything else about this? My painting is signed by my family member but there is no date. It is not painted on a traditional canvas, but I’m not sure the material. I can see brush strokes so I know it is not a print. I’m not looking to sell, I am just very curious!

No problem. The fault was with me for my poorly constructed message. In my defense, I do have a large cat on my lap that makes it difficult to type.

They are a treat. The big one is Cosette (on my lap), and the little one is Riley, the one in the light box.

Kiko was the same kind of Siamese (a traditional). Kiko was one of the best cats I had ever been lucky enough to spend some time with.

I was wondering the same thing, or some kind of step by step guided thing?

 

I’ve looked at it very closely, I don’t see any outlines or anything that would indicate a PBN though

 

I suspect these were decorative paintings in their time. (Do bear in mind that this is an offer price, not a sold price, on a generally over-priced web site.)
