Curious about this Batik print

I bought this a couple of decades ago at a charity auction because I liked it. Could never really decipher the artist signature. Now I am downsizing and want to give it away/sell it but no idea if it is worth anything or not. With the frame, it measures 33"X46".
Any ideas?

I see "Iwamura" which the internet confirms is a Japanese surname. What part of the world did you find the work in?

I got it in Pasadena, CA!

 

There were Iwamura's in Pasadena at the time. But... are you sure this is textile. It appears to have that impressed marks that a print would have.

Definitely not batik and agree this is some kind of print on paper. Possibly an aquatint.

 

Anything on the back? And what type of charity did the work's sale benefit?

Nothing on the back. It is in a very heavy and substantial frame. And, yes, it looks like a paper print on closer inspection. It was a charity event at my school. A parent donated it for auction. No way to find out who at this point.
