Cufflinks

YSL marked, with a nice stone. Is it glass or could it be stone?

Mak, I couldn't find a YSL example, but in other similar "designer" cufflinks, the overwhelmingly common/preferred stone seems to be black onyx...

Lanvin, Bulgari, Van Cleef... such as those.

 

It appears to be dark, but navy blue to me.

Colour looks more like mine, but I may be a bit colour blind though...
Also mine has strange pointy shape

Are yours that same blue color? Sorry, they looked so much darker on my monitor. The pair in the listing that I shared look to be a "Lapis Lazuli" blue ... but I have no idea if it is real lapis or a stone dyed to look like lapis ... or glass.

Makanudo, Do these look like yours? Or are yours darker? Seller says designed by Roger Scemama in the 1970s, and also says the stones are glass.

Mine do look a bit darker, but I did have them checked by the jewler and he said they were glass, not stone

 

They look like the same style, to me at least. So maybe the other information about designer and date will still be useful. Perhaps they were made in color variations. Or the online photos could be slightly off.

 

Well, they are identical in design, so if they were designed, which they were, they must have been designed by the same person.
I just do not know how they got the designer info. Can you ask them to back it up?
