Hi, I'm not quite sure what I have here. It looks look like a crystalline glaze that you see on pottery, but only on glass. I can't find any references to such a thing so I guess any help at all will be a help. The holly (I think that's what it is) and cardinal look to be hand painted, but also look to be applied somehow rather than painted directly onto the glass. This stands 8.5" tall and the glass is very thin. Thanks for any info or help.

I like the crystalline effect, but I don't think the Cardinal helps. The bird and Christmasy foliage look printed and applied to me, but someone might have added a couple touches with a brush.

I’ve honestly never seen that effect before.

Yes I see that now that you pointed it out. I'd like to make it go away because it's a really nice piece otherwise.

On my phone, so the images aren't great for me, but the interior was almost certainly coated with a crystalline glass paint. Can remember it being available in the '60s and '70s for the backs of aquariums and for crafting, still available, mostly for making faux stained glass. Is the design on top or is it inside the glass? Perhaps a decal, or a reverse decal if inside, the crystalline paint over it?

Yes, you solved it! I was able to scrape that horrible image off without harming the glass. Yes it was on the outside. I think this needs to make a comeback. Kind of cool actually. Thanks so much. Also here it is with a candle.
