    Hello everyone

Today I would like to show you this beautiful bisquit jar, which I bought in a thrift store some years ago.

The more I check it, the more curious it makes me.

Despite my internet search, I haven't gotten much wiser yet.

French, Italian, American, German, English, Bohemian, anything could be possible.

All I know is that it is very shiny, heavy and that both the lid and the jar have their own clear sound.

I have no further information, no brand or anything like that.

Nor do I know if it is valuable

Hopefully you can make some sense from my own description and photos.

    Please your knowledge.

Wow, very thorough!! Nice diagrams and photos.

Not an expert, but I do have a German crystal bowl ca. 1880 that has the same wheel-cut motifs that yours has.

My guess is German, with that style.
Besides, you are in the Netherlands and most crystal we get here is German.:playful:
    Absolutely!

Whew great pictures but I thought I was never going to get to the end one set is enough. As a rule out I would look here. Frankly to me it looks molded.

Yes it looks molded to me too. It also looks to be crystal.

Thank you for your compliments, Ghopper1924. I did my best to give you all a good picture, so that you can make a good assessment of this.
Can you show me a picture of your German cristal bowl?

Hello George Nesmith. Thanks to your replay, but what do you mean by molded.
Do you mean pressed glas or something like that? When I translate into Dutch it says; formed.

Molded = formed. Not blown. All so called cut glass/crystal starts out as molded, made in a mold/form. On the finer pieces the edges are hand cut, polished to fine sharp edges to finish. Some pieces are cut by hand but they still start out from a form/mold. Pressed glass is a term for molded glass that is not crystal [no lead in it] and not cut after the molding; it was massproduced and still is. Depression Glass was a name applied to one type of pressed glass. All pressed glass is not Depression Glass however.

I must agree with George, it's pressed glass which has had light grey rays cut into it to allow it to be called Cut Glass. My guess, made in any country east of Great Brittan, between 1975 and 2015. Mass marketed, will never have great value.

No, ... with my Mobil Apple 7-Plus, 12-megapixel camera, that makes qualitatively very good photos.
After that I only need to clarify with Microsoft photo program.:)
