Cribbage board battleship

Not sure why I couldn't comment at first.
Thought this may be interesting to some of you.
I've got a few of these though this one is missing all her guns. The guns were usually the parts used for the positions on the board.
This is the most crude one I think I have but I'd like more!
Anyone know if this was a kit or a pattern plan?

I have a tiny miniature cribbage board, but not in the shape of a boat. I'll bet it was a kit.

 

Many people probably couldn't cut the bevel on the hull....but...in the 40s people could tie their shoes so...

 

When ever I see neat things like this, I remember going through my Dad's Mechanixs Illustrated (or maybe it was Popular Mechanics) magazines.
They used to have nifty plans for stuff such as this.

Other magazines had much to do with such things. Check this cover out. One of my faves!

Most likely a pattern from a Wood Worker magazine. Or possibly a pattern from a Toy making book. Popular in the 1980s. My FIL had dozens, made ride on toys, toy cars, oven rack pullers, hot plates, also squirrels and ducks for the garden. Patterns were from magazines or books.

In a heavy wind and/or sea those flags would be the death of it.

I just wrote them to see if I can buy just the guns though I have brass tubing if not.

Really neat item. Brought back some memories though. When I was a kid a neighbor built me several battleships with mouse trap gizmos in them. You loaded them up and there was a small target in the hull and you rolled or shot marbles and if you hit the target the trap would go off and the super structure would fly up into the air in three pieces. Then you had to reset the mouse trap and put the pieces back on. They were 12' to 14" long.

Hi Milt,
Would brass dowels be easier instead of tubing? I think the tubing might bend from cutting to size.
