Hopefully someone can give me info on this kettle on stand. It has double spout serpent heads on the lid, which nestles into a conical insert in the pot that is open to the chaffing flame underneath. Is this a whistle? any idea of age or country of origin?

Spirit kettle, if memory serves. It would have a little candle or sterno or something underneath to keep the water hot.

Thanks for the comments so far. I get that it's a water or spirit kettle. It's the two-spouted handle that fits into the conical tube that I'm curious about. Those serpent heads are steam release valves of some sort. I've never seen anything like this. The cone doesn't seem to have any holes in it to let water through, and is open in the bottom so that the chaffing flame will go up into it. The kettle is kind of constructed like a bundt pan with a lid on top that plugs the hole, with two steam spout. Anyone see a kettle constructed like this?
