What are your collective thoughts on his jewelry? because he didn't make Jewelry for very long, are these going to be more valuable as the years go on, or not? It's not a big deal because I got these for $3 a pair.

He was around for longer than you'd think, over 40 years. His style changed over time and these earrings were popular in the 80s. No idea if they're going to go up in value or not. I was never fond of that style of clip.

I didnt mean men ! I was watching something the other night and the lady was wearing earrings and her lobes were stretched to the max and I wondered if that was uncomfortable. Ive had scads of female friends but i never thought to ask. I did have pierced ears at one point, but that was the 80s !

I have an 80s pair of my mother's that I've worn all day before. They're generally fine for a few hours before you notice them. What was surprising to me was the screw-back are even more comfortable for me. I have pierced, and it's what I prefer, but I have a friend who does not have pierced and wears clips or screw-back frequently.

Plenty of people stretch their lobes on purpose so it probably isn't that painful.

But if ya got ears, you can certainly give the clips a try to find out! :playful:

The Berebi ones were often pretty light-weight. I don't have holes and wear mostly old screwbacks when I wear earrings at all. Spring-back clips hurt like crazy, at least on me. The ones that swivel on a rivet, like Monet brand, are far more tolerable.

Heavens, I’ve got so many of these. I used to visit the 1928 factory shop in Burbank and they sold them. Really comfortable.

Berebi himself was selling lots of old stock on eBay last year. I find his 1980's work often and the simple (non-ariticulated styles) don't 'sell for much so I walk past.

I think he even had leftover pewter ingots at one point. Closed down with a vengeance, I guess.

My aunt wore very heavy earrings and her lobes were weirdly stretched permanently.
