Could you help me with some information on 2 plates

I have received these 2 plates from a relative and wondered if anyone could give me some more information.

Plate 1
Is about 10 inches in size and has the number that appears to be 964 on the back of it

Plate 2
The plate is about 11 inches and looks very yellowed. The pattern on it is in gold. The back has 321 on the back. I'm not sure if it should have a digit before, if it should it's very worn and I would guess it would be a 4 or a 1?

Any information would be really appreciated.

 

Hello and welcome Martin - it's going to be very difficult to get much information on these due to the lack of a manufacturer's mark. Numbers by themselves are usually not much help. They indicate a shape number or a decorator number. I would date the small platter at around 1900-1920 and the white plate maybe a little earlier.

I agree with Don.

Someone used these a lot. The condition is very rough. Value is more probably sentimental than dollar amount.

If you want to whiten them, you can put them in a pan and cover with peroxide. Leave in until they turn white again. Many will say you need beauty salon strength. I just use the stuff from the pharmacy and leave sit for a few days.
Rinse well, dry and display.
