    hey folks

found this today (was only a pound so no hurt feelings!!)

was wondering if it was just a costume piece, or something better

cant figure what the centre stone is (feels like a stone)

there are 2 little cherub type figures either side of the big stone

no markings apart from the symbol on the back

    any thoughts appreciated

Looks like costume to me. The large stone looks like glass, the small ones probably are also. You are missing a small one above the large one :sorry:

The style is inspired by mid to late 19th century Austro-Hungarian. The manufacturer could also be in that region, maybe Austria?
Did anyone say, you are missing the central dangle as well? You could replace that with a teardrop shaped turquoise glass bead, and it will look pretty.:)

ive taken the bottom link out to use as a link to a chain

A chain is a good idea.
This is the style, they also used a lot of turqoise, mother of pearl, pearls, and glass, and often included shell shapes and cherubs. These are from the German minority in Transsylvania, present day Romania:

An Austro-Hungarian pendant from Slovakia, from my own collection. Silver and garnets, with the shell shapes your pendant has as well:

But this way you have two very different styles. You need a more Baroque style crucifix.

Charlie, I just found this silver pendant, looks like a close relative of yours, except no stones:

The seller is in Austria and sells vintage traditional Austrian and antique Austro-Hungarian jewellery. He rarely specifies a region or period, but has beautiful stuff. I buy from him occasionally, and then spend hours trying to find out if there are microscopic stamps and where they are from.

The French and the Portuguese are notorious for itty bitty marks. I recently found a Polish bracelet with the same affliction. No need to worry about finding any on the piece that started the thread. I'd put a much more ornate cross on it too, if cross there be.

Maybe something along these lines, from NW Germany, I don't know exactly where (yet).
    Sorry, too early for focus....:sorry:
