Featured Coral Earrings

Imagine how quickly I extracted these out of the collection of modern costume earrings at the car boot sale…..
Please can anyone help me with the age please and maybe the origin?

Those definitely could be as old as later Victorian. Nice find.

A good clean with soapy water and windows cleaner spray, followed by some oil on the coral will get them perfect again

K, it is only April, but these could be your find of the year!

I would say they are a bit older than my learned friend kyra thought, that 'pineapple cut' on the coral is at least 1830s imo, possibly a little older.

These are 'night and day', meaning you can take them apart to wear them without pendants during daytime, and attach the pendants in the evening for a posh dinner or a festive occasion.

I have a few pineapple carved bits and bobs, so I know what to look for. Nothing as grand as your earrings though.

 

Some have ammonia (windex), that help remove oxidation on gold, and clean very well rhinestones-pastes

 

Right! They could be older. You are the Queen if coral
I was going from the shepherd hooks to date them. Usually older earrings have the system going from back of the ear to clasp on the front. A pain to put on

I know! I usually avoid those, but did give one pair a try because they were so beautiful. Result: one very swollen earlobe. I didn't even try the other one.
I sold the earrings. If I can't wear them, I don't keep them.

 

I think I need to sneak into your neck of the woods, first the ring and now these! Not to mention that lovely jug Beautiful finds KSW!

On one lobe it is easier to find the piercing from the back & on the other it's not much problem, so any unwanted antique earrings can go to...
